Homemade cleaners

Household cleaners are something that everyone must use. I have recently looked into making my own cleaners. Making your own cleaners allows you to control what is put in your cleaning supplies, so it's safer. And an added bonus..... It helps save you money!!! Win Win!!

Homemade bathroom cleaner
12 oz dawn dish liquid
12 oz vinegar
1 tsp liquid laundry soap
Mix together in a spray bottle and shake

Homemade laundry detergent- Powder
1 bar fels-naptha- shaved (we use a potato peeler or grate with a cheese grater)
1 cup borax
1 cup washing soda
Mix together ingredients.  (We put ours in a food processor to make the shavings smaller and mix everything together really well). Store in an air tight container. Use 1-2 tablespoons per load.

Homemade fabric softener
1 bottle of conditioner (any scent you wish)
6 cups of hot water
3 cups of white vinegar
Mix together ingredients, stir until conditioner is completely dissolved. Store in containers. (Note: Mason jars don't work well because the lids and bands will rust. I found out the hard way.) Use 2-3 tsp per load.

Homemade swiffer wet jet solution
If you use a pipe wrench you can open the swiffer wet jet bottle and fill it with your own solution.
1/2  water
1/2 vinegar
add a few drops of dish liquid
replace lid and shake to mix.
I have read that it might leak when you store it because the seal was opened. However I store mine hanging upside down to prevent that.

Homemade dishwasher rinse aid
3/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup of lemon juice or water

Homemade laundry stain remover
you will need a spray bottle
mix equal parts of hydrogen peroxide and water
add 3 squirts of blue dawn dish liquid
Shake to mix
